Frequently Asked Questions
Still have questions about evaluations, scheduling, or what to expect? Here are quick answers to help you get started.
How do I know if my child needs therapy?
We’re happy to talk through your concerns and help you determine if an evaluation would be beneficial. Early support can make a meaningful difference, and you’re not alone in navigating this.
What makes your approach different from traditional therapy and what is DIRFloortime?
Instead of expecting children to sit, perform, or follow directions right away, we meet them where they are developmentally and build from there. We follow your child’s lead, join them in what they love, and use play and meaningful interaction to support growth.
Through this approach, we help children strengthen their ability to regulate, engage, communicate, and problem-solve. We’re not just teaching isolated skills, we’re helping your child build the foundation needed to use those skills in real life, in a way that feels natural, meaningful, and lasting.
What if my child doesn't participate during sessions?
When children feel safe and understood, engagement naturally follows. We meet your child exactly where they are and support them in a way that feels respectful and effective.
Can I be involved in my child's therapy
What should I expect during my child's first evaluation and after?
After the evaluation, we develop an individualized plan of care based on your child’s developmental level, strengths, and areas of need. We’ll review our recommendations with you and answer any questions. We will schedule consistent therapy sessions to begin as soon as the next week, focusing on building connection, regulation, communication, and functional skills in a way that feels natural and meaningful for your child.
What do I need to do to schedule an evaluation?
Do you have a waitlist?
What is your cancelation and attendance policy?
Do you offer social skills groups?
Our groups are rooted in a DIRFloortime approach, meaning we focus on building relationships, shared attention, and meaningful interaction rather than just practicing “scripts” or forced social behaviors. We meet children where they are and help them grow their ability to engage with others in a natural, supported way.
Groups are formed based on age, developmental level, and social needs to ensure the best fit for each child. As we receive enough interest to create a well-matched group, we will reach out with available times and next steps.
